Collecting Goals

Usage statistics are analyzed within the SmartRanking website and/or system. The purpose of this is to optimize the design and security for visitors and/or SmartRanking. Based on this data, SmartRanking can tailor its services as much as possible to the needs of visitors and/or SmartRanking. Visitors’ browsing and clicking behavior is not tracked on an individual basis. The information provided in the contact form is used for identification purposes and to contact the person who filled out the form.

In order to provide you with good service, SmartRanking needs the above information from you. Providing your personal data to SmartRanking is a legal, contractual, or necessary condition for entering into an agreement with SmartRanking. If you do not provide this information, it will unfortunately not be possible to enter into an agreement with SmartRanking.

Cookies

On our websites, we use functional and analytical cookies that are stored by your browser on your device, such as your computer, tablet, or phone.

These cookies store information such as your computer’s settings and the preferences you have specified to make your next visit to our website easier. SmartRanking uses Google Analytics to track how effective our Google Ads are on Google search results pages and how visitors use our website. The information collected for this purpose, including the IP address, is transmitted to Google. Google stores this data on servers located in the United States. SmartRanking has configured Google Analytics in accordance with the instructions of the Dutch Data Protection Authority. As a result, the impact on our visitors’ privacy is minimal.

Google uses this information to provide reports about the website to SmartRanking, to analyze how the website is used, and to provide its advertisers with information about the effectiveness of their campaigns. Google may share this information with third parties to the extent that such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf or when Google is legally required to disclose the information. SmartRanking has no influence over this. SmartRanking has not authorized Google to use the analytics information obtained for other Google services.

With your consent, we place “tracking cookies” on your computer. We use these cookies to track which pages you visit in order to build a profile of your online behavior. Again, this profile is not linked to your name, address, email address, or similar information; it is used solely to tailor advertisements to your profile so that they are as relevant to you as possible.

How long do we retain your data for these purposes?

SmartRanking retains the data until the individuals concerned log out of and/or delete the relevant Account and/or App. Individuals concerned may request to delete their Account or modify the data within the Account at any time.

Your personal data will not be retained for longer than is reasonably necessary for the purposes for which the data was collected. To provide our services as effectively as possible, we store the information you provide. The data is stored for a period of 24 months. We determine how long we store the data based on the following criteria:

SmartRanking may choose not to delete certain personal data immediately if required to do so by SmartRanking’s legal retention periods, and if retaining this data does not disproportionately infringe upon your privacy.

Which parties have access to which data?

With regard to external parties that have access to personal data, the data is anonymized to the extent possible, and separate agreements are entered into to ensure confidentiality and the lawful handling of personal data.

We will never sell, distribute, or lease personal data to third parties for the purpose of direct marketing without your consent. Personal data will be provided to regulatory agencies, tax authorities, and law enforcement agencies only if SmartRanking is legally required to do so. In such cases, SmartRanking will take appropriate measures that are reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is protected as effectively as possible.

How do we protect your data?

SmartRanking handles your personal data with the utmost care. We have implemented various appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against loss or unauthorized use, which are reasonable given the associated costs and the nature of the personal data. For example, we secure our systems and applications in accordance with applicable information security standards, such as encryption.

Transfer Outside the EU

Your personal data cannot be transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area. If your personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, SmartRanking will take appropriate measures that are reasonably necessary to ensure adequate protection of your personal data.

Questions and Requests for Access, Correction, and Deletion

An Account may be canceled by the user at any time. Users can also modify the information they have provided within the Account. If you have subscribed to a newsletter, each newsletter includes instructions on how to unsubscribe.

You may request access to your personal data at any time. You may also request that we correct, supplement, delete, or restrict access to your personal data if it is inaccurate, incomplete, or irrelevant, or if it is otherwise being processed in violation of a legal requirement. You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data. If you have given consent for the processing of personal data, you have the right to withdraw that consent. You also have the right to data portability.
